it was the 10th of June 1976 and mum and myself had been to the hospital for an eye examination, Pat had said that she would give us a lift home afterwards. We met up and headed to the bus garage to collect the car Mo was a spare that day and we heard a happy whistling as we entered the garage and as we headed to where the car was parked we heard an unhappy whistling, it was Mo and obviously he was having to go driving he saw us and asked me if I wanted a trip to Victoria coach station, it was an awful day the heavens opened and one of the tunnels into Heathrow was flooded and another was closed because of a head on collision so all the traffic in and out was using one tunnel, net result was arriving Victoria at 6pm when we should of been well on our way back to Reading,. There was an old lady at the front of the queue for the bus but Mo had to have a break which the inspector confirmed , after his break we headed back to the bus where Mo opened the door and took his seat behind the steering wheel, the lady asked Mo to put her case in the boot to which Mo replied if you can find a boot on this bus you're a better person than me, after much mumbling and moaning she put her case in the luggage area and asked for a ticket to Oxford, at this point Mo pointed to the destination board and announced that he was going to Reading, she asked where the Oxford bus was and struggling to contain his mirth Mo pointed to the exit and said there.
